Opening My REAL Eyes
Have you ever read something in the Bible that just jumped off the page at you? I remember sitting in my room reading 1 Corinthians 2 recently and my mouth literally dropping open. Especially at this:
“…God’s wisdom [is] a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began… [I]t is written: ‘What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived’ - the things God has prepared for those who love Him - these are the things God has revealed to us by His Spirit.”
It goes on to say that because believers in Jesus now have GOD’S Spirit INSIDE OF US, we can see into His deep thoughts and hidden mysteries. I’m blown away when I think about that! That I - little old Andrea Hamilton from Olathe, Kansas - can see into the secret thoughts of God. He lets me in on spiritual realities that human eyes and ears can’t discern. He gives me the Mind of Christ!! It makes me want to forsake all the temporal stuff I’ve been focusing on for so long and STEP IN to the deep ocean of God’s wisdom. I want to see things of Heaven - things that are even more real and beautiful and True than the 3D matter around us.
Ephesians 1:18 says, “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people, and His incomparably great power for those who believe.” I want that. I want to see His hope and glory and riches and amazing power.
What do you want to see?
